Phones that fits in this stand (without case): Apple iPhone 6/6 Plus (including all previous generations of iPhones), Samsung Galaxy S3/S4, Moto X, HTC One (M8). The stand is designed to universally fit most Smartphones. It’ll also work with phone with slim cases, however, the COMBINED thickness of the phone and case MUST measure less than 11mm. If it’s any thicker, the phone will not sit properly in the slot. Although the slot is 1/2″ wide, but if the phone is any thicker than the recommended thickness of 11mm, it won’t tilt at an angle and rest on the bar.
The charging cable is fed underneath the dock through an opening that is approximately 1-1/4” x 1/2”.
A rubber bumper is included to place on the steel bar, it is optional. If you are placing the phone without a case, it will prevent the bar from scratching the phone and also provides a nice grip. You can orientate the phone vertically or horizontally in the slot, the glass tube is not in the way.
There’s a total of 8 variations of the stands. One of them includes this version where one of the tube is illuminated by a white ultra bright LED powered by a CR2032 battery. A fresh battery can last at least 7-14 days turned on continuously.
“Beautifully handcrafted charging station for iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and other Smartphones. Combining hand-selected walnut wood and vintage electron glass tubes emerges an astonishing and functional piece of gadgetry. A handsome accessory that compliments any style décor.”
I am very pleased to receive in perfect condition my Universal walnut docking station with electron tube, I recently retired as a Principle Technical Officer from Telstra (Australia’s National Telco). When I stated my training as a Technician in the early 1960’s the electron tube was of course the main component in all the electronic devices we used, being changed first to Transistors then solid state over the next few years. The unit now takes pride of place on my desk, being a perfect fit for my Samsung Galaxy S2, and a reminder of my early years as a Technician/Technical Officer.
